This year, Pilane Sculpture Park in Tjörn, Sweden, celebrates its 20th anniversary with the solo exhibition Sculptural Landscape by Tony Cragg.
The exhibition features twelve major large-scale works placed in the wild nature of Pilane, creating a dynamic conversation between contemporary sculpture and the park's dramatic coastal landscape.
Nature has been a constant source of inspiration for Cragg, who grew up on his grandfather’s farm in southern England. Some of the sculptures shown in Pilane are difficult to distinguish from the natural surroundings. It is as if they rise directly from the ground. Others stand out, as though they wish to signal that they belong to a time that has not yet arrived.
