Painter, Painter: Dan Perfect, Fiona Rae is an exhibition of recent paintings and works on paper by British artists Dan Perfect and Fiona Rae at the Southampton City Art Gallery. Committed to the expressive and enduring language of painting, the artists share a deep interest in our contemporary experience refracted through technology and cultural media, with manifestly different outcomes in their work.
Perfect and Rae are married and live together, working in separate studios in the same building in London’s East End. Southampton City Art Gallery is fortunate to hold a work by each of these artists in the permanent collection and is honoured to be hosting this first major simultaneous display of their work in an exhibition organised by Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery.
The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue with a text on each artist by Martin Herbert.
