Der Wolfsburger Kunstpreis „Junge Stadt sieht Junge Kunst“ wird im Jahr 2014 an die deutsch-iranische Künstlerin Bettina Pousttchi vergeben. Verbunden mit dem Preis sind eine Ausstellung in der Städtischen Galerie Wolfsburg im Mai 2014 und eine umfangreiche Publikation. Zusätzlich gibt es einen Ankauf für die Sammlung der Städtischen Galerie Wolfsburg.
Wie subtile Interventionen im Alltag unterlaufen Pousttchis Objekte, die oftmals aus dem öffentlichen Raum entnommen sind, unsere täglichen Wahrnehmungsmuster. Sie formieren sich neu zu Skulpturen, die sowohl Bezüge zu einer Alltäglichkeit als auch zur Kunstgeschichte aufweisen. Dabei verwendet sie in ihren Arbeiten zum Beispiel Absperrgitter oder Poller, aus denen sie neue, abstrakte Formen erschafft. Die immer wieder verwendeten Absperrgitter thematisieren Grenzen und Grenzerfahrungen sowie die Freisetzung von neuer Energie.
Auf 2.150 m² hat Bettina Pousttchi eine Fotoinstallation auf einer Plane angebracht, die den Nordflügel des Schlosses und die Seitenflanken bedeckt. „The City“ nimmt Bezug auf die Geschichte Wolfsburgs als Planstadt des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Die Künstlerin hat ein zusammenhängendes Motiv aus zehn Gebäuden errichtet, die alle in Bezug stehen zur Geschichte des Wolkenkratzers, der architektonischen Ikone der Moderne.

The Wolfsburg Art Prize "Young City Sees Young Art" will be awarded to the German-Iranian artist Bettina Pousttchi in 2014. The prize includes an exhibition at the Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg (City Art Gallery Wolfsburg) in May 2014 and a comprehensive publication. In addition, there will be a purchase for the collection of the Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg.
Like subtle interventions in everyday life, Pousttchi's objects, often taken from public space, subvert our daily patterns of perception. They reform themselves into sculptures that show references to an everydayness as well as to art history. In her works, she uses barrier grids or bollards, for example, from which she creates new, abstract forms. The repeatedly used barrier grids thematise borders and borderline experiences as well as the release of new energy.
On 2,150 m² Bettina Pousttchi has mounted a photo installation on a tarpaulin that covers the north wing of the palace and the side flanks. "The City" refers to Wolfsburg's history as a planned city in the early 20th century. The artist has erected a coherent motif of ten buildings, all of which relate to the history of the skyscraper, the architectural icon of modernism.
