Anna & Bernhard Blume at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin

Anna and Bernhard Blume’s "Küchenkoller (Kitchen Frenzy)" is part of the collection of the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin and is currently on display in the collection galleries of the museum. A similar work from the „Küchenkoller" series is also on view in our "30 Years – Buchmann Galerie“ exhibition that runs until Saturday, 26 April 2025.

„Küchenkoller" introduces the artists themselves as protagonists in a sequence of staged black and white photographs set in a claustrophobic domestic environment. The series captures surreal, nightmarish encounters with household objects and potatoes that seem to come to life. Throughout the installation, the action is driven by “food” that glows, floats and transforms into enigmatic organic shapes.
