Westwind - travail situé, 2010
Fabric, steel, fans, clips (fabric with blue and white stripes)
Daniel Buren's work Westwind consists, in this version, of six narrow long flags, woven with the famous 8.7cm wide white stripes that make the French artist's work unmistakable and with which he revolutionized painting in the late 1960s. Moved by fans, they flutter gently in the wind.
As this is a travail situé the work is available with one to up to twenty flags. This image shows the version with six fans.
